A Year of Inspiration, Style, and Blessings

When 2011 rolled around, I had two main goals: to finish grad school with my two master degrees (check, check!) and get the job that I dreamed of. When 2012 rolled around, I had the degrees, but not the job. Yet. So I had to buckle down, grind through, and work. Hard. Until I got the job. (Check!)

It's a blessing.

It seems as though I've been in a constant state of "Go!" since 2011, but for the past few days, I've been taking the time out to stop.

And take it all in.

And reflect.

I'm blessed.

And this here community is such a blessing to me. (And I hope it is to you as well.)

We've shared a lot in this place and space, and for that, I am grateful.

Way back in January, I shared with you how I've found my "happy." And I challenged many of you to find your happiness within as well. The emails that I received after that post was truly inspiring.

I spent some time thinking about what kind of mother I want to continue to be and how I'd like Aiden to remember his childhood 15 years from now.

I've taken time for myself by traveling to Miami and indulging in life's little pleasures. I've shown that moms are anything but dull and boring by sharing my fashion and style sense with you and by putting myself first. Sometimes. I've dated. Again. And had fun. Again. And learned some lessons along the way. Again.

I've continued working with eBay, which led me to the west coast, singing Katy Perry's "California Gurl" as I toured San Fran and drank fine wine.

I also continued writing for REDBOOK Magazine and, in addition to writing online articles a couple times per month, I was published in print as well. And then there was the September issue of Parents Magazine in which I was passionately discussing all things education, educational reform, and the achievement gap.

Speaking of education, I wrote admissions essays, collected recommendations, and braved interviews so that I could get Aiden into a good private school. And for those of you who live in a big city (or know anything about the NYC private school admissions process), you know what that means: I worked. Hard.

Co-parenting failed, but I embraced life as a solo single mom. And it ain't half bad, especially if I continue to learn from hard life lessons along the way.

And how can I forget modeling a swimsuit on the first day of summer on a double-decker bus all around Manhattan? Or the nod from NY Metro Parents? Or Red Tricycle? Or the collaboration with NY Family Magazine? Fun times!

I got my butt kicked a couple times, but that's alright because I learned the lessons. And shared them, of course.

I couldn't make it to the press trip in Atlanta with Coca-cola, but my blogging pal YUMMommy represented very well. (Thanks girl!)

Oh yeah, and I've hung out with some celebrities too -- Jessica Alba, Jennifer Hudson, and Soledad O'Brien, to name a few. Pretty epic.

Needless to say, it's been quite a year.

I share all this to say two main things: children of single parents can thrive and be happy and do well in life. It's possible. And having a baby in your early 20's is not the end of the world, but the beginning of something so wonderful and so monumental. All of your comments, messages, and emails prove it. Everyday.

So, in 2013, let's keep sharing. And let's keep showing 'em what we're made of!

Cheers and high-fives all around!

'Tis The Season... To Shop!

I didn't participate in the craziness that was Black Friday. I never do. There's just something about heading out at an extremely early hour to load up on things... the day after I give thanks for all that I'm grateful for. But I know that many folks get their holiday shopping done that day.

Not me.
{via MommyDelicious on Instagram}
While I love me some shopping (duh... did I even have to mention that?!), I don't always like holiday shopping. In fact, I love to do most of it online. That way, I avoid the crowds in NYC and spend my free time loving up Aiden and actually enjoying the magic that is NYC around this time of the year.

For us, it's the most wonderful time of year, indeed.

{photo via eBay}
Which is yet another reason I'm thankful for all things eBay. I'm using the eBay Holiday Gift Shop this year to get my holiday shopping done, not only because eBay has a lot of new items that's already on my holiday list, but also because I can score them for up to 85% off of the retailed price.

But wait. There's more.

Users can create gift lists (that no one else will be able to see!), create toy lists for the kids on your list who have been "nice," not "naughty" this year, and get awesome recommendations from eBay experts.

But wait. There's more. The plot thickens.

You can access the eBay Holiday Gift Shop from your smartphone, which only means one thing: you can shop anywhere, anytime.

And... if you're stuck and need a little inspiration on what to get folks, you can use the eBay Holiday Gift Guide to help you out. (I used it last year and it had/has pretty good suggestions on it.)

{photo via eBay}

The Sweepstakes:
Anyone who uses the Gift Shop to create their gift list will be entered for a chance to win an item off their list. How's that for cool?! Participants will also be eligible to win eBay gift cards (which, I know you like more than a little bit).

The deets:
The Holiday Gift Shop promotion will end at 11:59:59 PM PT on December 21st, but since there will be daily winners, don't wait too long to enter. Actually, just head on over and enter now.

Happy holiday shopping!

Expressing Gratitude, eBay Style

 I remember one of my first purchases on eBay. I'd been looking for a cobalt blue blazer for some time, but didn't have any luck finding one that I loved (and that was in my price range).

Then, I checked eBay. And after a few clicks and a bit of perusing, I found a new love. There's no doubt about it: when it comes to fashion finds, eBay has come through for me. Several times. Be it Halloween costumes, vintage items, or shoes that were sold out in stores, I was able to find what I was looking for on eBay.

Which is one of the many reasons I love eBay so much and proudly represent the brand on this corner of the web. I'm thankful to eBay and to the memories it has helped me create, whether here in NYC or on the west coast.

In the same fashion, eBay is thankful to me. And you. In fact, eBay recently launched a campaign entitled, "eBay Thanks You" and they have a clear message, "To our inspiring eBay community: Thank You."

Simple. Sweet. And powerful.

The eBay community has raised $63 million in 2011 to help support non-profit organizations in need of the funds, and there are several videos illustrating the good that has come from buying and selling through eBay Giving Works. In fact, you can support a cause that means something to you by donating through the eBay Giving Works program by donating. (Learn more about this awesome program by "liking" eBay Giving Works on Facebook.)

The "eBay Thanks You" campaign is a tearjerker, and you can get your dose of inspiration by visiting and viewing the videos on the eBay YouTube page. As part of the campaign and a way to pay it forward, eBay will graciously provide a $50,000 grant to one of the three non-profit organizations that use the site most effectively, and the community will vote to pick the winner.

There's more.

Users can enter to win daily and weekly prizes that include (but are not limited to) iPads, home entertainment systems, and a new car; there will be pretty sweet Daily Deals; and there will be special prizes for eBay sellers like free listings for a year, a free 2-month subscription, or a free pass to an eBay Business Boot-Camp.

Oh-la-la... now that's how you say "Thank You."

The eBay Mobile App... and A $25,000 Giveaway!

As you lovelies already know, I've been quite the fan of eBay and have been dishing about the nuts and bolts and ins and outs and all things eBay this past year. But... one thing that I've noticed is that, with the exception of this post, I've neglected to give you the scoop on a super easy way to list items on eBay.

Good thing that's about to change.

How so?

With the eBay Mobile App.

While I was on the west coast hanging out with the folks at eBay, I discovered that it literally takes less than five minutes to snap a picture of an item and list it on eBay. Or... you can snap many pictures of many different items and list them at your convenience.

As stated by the folks at eBay:
"Time is precious. The eBay mobile app saves time by allowing you to snap a picture from your smart phone or iPad and list an item within 60 seconds. Before you leave the room your item is already accessible to millions of potential buyers worldwide and you are on your way to earning extra cash."
Go ahead... give it a try. (You know you want to.)

As an added incentive, eBay is giving those of you who list via the eBay mobile app between now and September 14th a chance to win $25,000.

Why?

Because eBay is celebrating 100 million mobile listings. Oh, and because their pretty awesome too.

Here are the deets:
  • List an item between September 5th and September 14th via the eBay Mobile App and you'll be entered to win the $25,000.00 giveaway.
  • New listers can click here to get registered and download the app. (Don't worry though, registering is pretty quick.)
  • The winner will be chosen by eBay and notified within 6 weeks of the contest closing.
Simple enough, huh?

Happy listing and good luck!

eBay Celebrates Mother's Day by Creating New Memories

Happy May lovelies!

(Seriously, though... can you believe it's May already?! Where is the time going?!)

Last month was extra special because, well, it was my birthday, and that was all kinds of awesome. This month is also special because it's the month of mothers and, well, we're all kinds of awesome. Word!

How awesome?

So awesome that eBay is celebrating us by "Creating New Memories" and hosting a few really good (really, really good) social media giveaways.

But don't get excited just yet.

To kick off the month, along with Splash Creative Media, eBay will be hosting a Twitter Party (hashtag #eBayMom) For Moms TODAY May 1st from 3-5pm (12-2pm PT) and fabulous party goers (that would be YOU!) will have a chance to win a $25 eBay gift card every fifteen minutes. $25 eBay gift card. Every. Fifteen. Minutes.

But don't get excited just yet.

eBay is making your Mother's Day shopping super easy and super convenient by putting together this savvy gift guide. Of course I checked it out and can tell you that it has loads of items that your mommies might like. (Psst: it can also serve as a starting point of "what to sell" this month for those of you looking to make a few extra bucks.) The list, which is organized by category, is being updated regularly so be sure to check back regularly to keep abreast with the additions.

Okay... now you can get excited! *e-Flips*

Hope to "see" you at the Twitter party!

Celebrating Earth Day 2012... eBay Style

Sunday is Earth Day! You know what that means, right? It's time to celebrate all things green and remind ourselves how to be more eco-friendly and kind to our Mother Earth. After all, she's all we have.

While I certainly wouldn't consider myself a "Go Green Guru," these days I'm finding myself trying to be as eco-friendly as possible. From learning tips and tricks from the adorbs Tristin and Tyler to using household and baby products from Jessica Alba's The Honest Company to perusing the eBay Green Team site for tips on buying and selling in a more green way, I'm totally a Greener Alicia. Score!

To celebrate Earth Day (which, is totally like the Superbowl for the eBay Green Team), the eBay Green Team is helping users of all personalities approach their individual shopping experiences with an eco-friendly lens.

Don't give me the "Huh?" confused look just yet -- it's a lot simpler than it sounds! Just as I told you in this post, "green" items are pretty much anything that has been pre-used. (Or "pre-loved", as I like to say.) I'm sure many of you are right in the thick of Spring cleaning so instead of throwing items away, monetize off of it and sell it on eBay. Okay, okay... maybe I'm the only one who's still in the midst of Spring cleaning, but, like, you get my point: selling items on eBay can and will help you "be more green" by extending it's useful life and reducing your carbon footprints.

First, head over to the eBay Selling Inspiration House for, you guessed it, ideas on things you can sell after you're all done Spring cleaning. After spending some time on the site, I was able to get a better idea of things in my apartment that I could sell and not toss. (Totally Green thinking.)

Then, head over the the eBay Green site to get tips on how to list your items. For instance, instead of listing Aiden's outgrown t-shirts as "Used T-shirts," I'm learning to describe that folks can use these t-shirts as play clothing for their children. It gives them a reason to buy it. Pretty smart, huh? (Totally Green thinking.)

Next, head over to eBay Green site in order to learn how to ship green with the eBay recyclable box program. (Totally Green thinking.)

Last, sit back and wait for your payment to come. (Totally green thinking. But in the other sense, like, green dollars.)

House of Consignment Helps with eBay Selling

Fashionistas, I hope you've been tuning in to VH1's latest 10-episode reality show, "House of Consignment." If you haven't, it's not to late to play catch up.

The show features a Chicago entrepreneur and fashionista Corri McFadden, who's main mission is to improve the way women shop (and make money... hold off on the comments -- you'll see what I'm talking about in a mere moment). In the show (and in real life) Corri and her team of 20something fashionistas take in thousands of dollars worth of high-end brand items into their Lincoln Park retail store, eDrop-Off. Then, they sell the items for big bucks on... you guessed it... eBay!

{Corri McFadden}
The catch? They only take fashion items and accessories from top designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Chanel, Versace... you get my drift. If it's not couture and if it doesn't come from an exclusive designer, then it's not for eDrop-Off. Sounds kind of high-maintenance and stuck up, right?

Not quite. Corri had humble beginnings and this entire concept began as her senior project in fashion design school. Now, it's turned her into a young and successful business woman and the owner of a multi-million dollar company. Which brings me to my original point: Corri can teach us all a thing or two about how to make money on eBay. (I'm just saying...)

So... in addition to tuning into "House of Consignment" to see what the fashionistas are rocking each week and for the drama that is reality TV (let's not forget about the drama!), we can tune in to it to see just how Corri and her team does it. We can see how they take photos of items, how they list items on eBay (their choice of words for listing items, etc), how they price items, and how they ship it off. We can also see what's hot -- what's currently selling and what's not selling. Corri's no rookie. She knows her eBay stuff and it's made her some big bucks. (Not to mention that it's landed her on VH1 as well.)

Time for us to learn what Corri already knows. (And if you're new to selling on eBay, visit this post where I share basic tips for newbie eBay sellers... you're welcome!)

Who's in?

Also, eBay will host a live auction for fans to bid on one, special item that was featured in each episode. Pretty neat, huh?

Again... who's in?

California Gurl

As you all know, last week I left the lovely NYC to hang out at the eBay Headquarters in San Jose, California with the rest of the eBay Parent Ambassador Bloggers. It was pure dopeness.

When we weren't talking about all things eBay, we were playing around with the eBay signs, touring San Francisco (what a great city!), and tasting enough Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at Testarossa Winery in Los Gatos to last for the rest of March (and some of April). Splendid, quite splendid.

Here's what I wore while I was on the golden coast singing,
"California girls, we're undeniable
Fine, fresh, fierce, we got it on lock
West coast, represent
Now put your hands up
Oooooh oh oooooh"
(Katy Perry, people.)

{Blouse and vest: F21; Black skinnies: American Eagle;
Suede wedges: Steve Madden; Ring: H&M}

{Short-Sleeve Tee with neck tie: Jason Wu for Target;
Sequined vest: American Eagle 77 Kids;
Gray skinnies: Levi's; Suede wedges: Steve Madden}

{Navy blazer, navy skinnies, blouse, canvas
bag: H&M; Suede Wedges: Steve Madden;
Oversized ring: Aldo Accessories;
Nails: Kardashian Kolor Khloe Had
A Lam Lam}

I only packed two pair of shoes because I was adamant about carrying my luggage on the plane with me... baggage check is ex-pen-sive!) and as you can see from almost every picture, my latest obsession are my suede wedges from Steve Madden. Not only do they make me look five inches taller, but they are also super steady and comfortable. I literally wore them all day everyday! Score! (Oh yeah, and I love my Jason Wu for Target Tee with the neck tie.)

I also have a couple posts coming up about how to maximize on your eBay selling experience so stay tuned.

Who's ready for a fashionable week?!

Being The Best You

Yesterday I read a quote and I just had to share it with you on the Mommy Delicious Facebook page. It read, "Be your best you."

I must admit that it took me awhile to get to this point where I'm comfortable and content in just being who I am. (Chalk it up to my quarter-life crisis, where I was trying to find my way after an unexpected pregnancy and a not-so-sweet relationship gone sour.) And it has taken me a little bit longer to be comfortable and content in openly showing others who I am. (Now I see that it's totally worth it.)

This post comes to you live from the west coast. I'm in San Jose, California hanging out at the eBay offices, and talking it up and having a good time with other bloggers in the eBay Parent Panel Ambassador Program. (More on that in a later post.)

Although we've been playing a lot, we've also been working a lot, and during one of our sessions yesterday, I was given a compliment about the work that I do in the blogosphere and on the Internet. At first, I was like, "Huh, me?!"

But then I sat back. And I just listened. And I took it all in by absorbing what the people were saying about me. That's when I realized just how important it is to embrace who you truly are and to be your best and realest self. Wholly and completely.

People are observing you and all the things that you do, even if it's from a distance. Every time you make a move, you're leaving another footprint in your legacy. Shouldn't it be the best and most accurate "you" possible?

I think so!

In a world where people can pull you in many different directions, it's not always easy to maintain your sense of self. But it's imperative. And once you've maintained yourself, upgrade. And maintain that upgraded self. And then upgrade again. And again. And again.

Until you're at your best.

Until you are the best you.

What's one thing you can do to start that process today?

The Green Team, Baby! PLUS, Win $1000 from eBay!

I'm pretty excited to share something with you that I think is, like, so totally awesome. It's my latest obsession and it's name is eBay Green, my new fave spot for eco-friendly education, inspiration, and, of course, shopping (one of my fave pastimes).

In 2012, it's all about reducing, reusing, and recycling, and this new eBay site is going to make the 3 R's as easy as possible for you. While helping you earn money, of course. How so? Well, because the site is dedicated to being entirely green. While helping you earning money, of course.

And it's not only a shopping portal (although, let's face it: shopping is a major bonus!). There's also the Green Team Talks where you can get schooled on all things "green," like composting and the impact of the aluminum can. (And then, get your shopping on, baby!)

PLUS: If you have a question, you can post it in the "Ask the Green Team Community," and other eBay Green community members can help answer.

PLUS: On the eBay Green site, community members can create Eco Shopping Lists on pretty much anything. Household products, baby products, nursery items... take your pick!

Can't think of anything "green" to list? Simple solution! With the exception of old appliances, anything that's already in existence and can be re-used can be considered "green." Think "refurbished, pre-owned (or "pre-loved"), and re-purposed." And there you have it -- GREEN! As a super dope eBay Green Team member puts it, "The greenest product is one that already exists." WORD!

For your chance to win a $1,000 eBay gift card, follow these steps below:
  1. Visit the eBay Green website.
  2. Sign with your eBay User ID and password.
  3. Join the Green Team.
  4. On the homepage (green.ebay.com) identify the “Greener Alternative” and “Eco Shopping Lists” sections.
  5. Next to these sub headers, you’ll see “add an item” or “create a list.”
  6. To enter the contest, select the proper category and click on “add an item” or “create a list.”
  7. By adding an item URL from the eBay marketplace and explaining why it’s a greener alternative or creating a list of eco items, you are entered to win.
  8. Once the listing appears on the site, you are entered to win a $1,000 eBay gift card!

eBay MoneyMakers Web Series PLUS $25 Gift Card GIVEAWAY! {Winner Announced}

Need extra cash these days? Well, of course you do! (Don't we all?)

With holiday expenses piling up and leaving us easily susceptible to racking up debt as we head into the new year, don't you wish money appeared out of thin air? Well, of course you do! (Don't we all?)

Good news! It does. Not really, but, it can.

Introducing...

The eBay MoneyMakers Web Series, a video series that will highlight a family's story on how selling on eBay impacted their lives. For the better, of course.

The first family that's being highlighted is The O'Briens of Westfield, Indiana. After relocating for a job and having the position eliminated soon after, The O'Briens (with a new baby and a no family income) needed cash to appear out of thin air. And fast.

Enter eBay. The O'Briens began selling household items to fund their daily expenses. And it worked. A lot. Although Tristen O'Brien is now working full time, they continue to use their "found money" to fund their emergency expenses and to contribute to their wish list. Like a trip to Disney World. Skee wee!

Get some inspiration by checking out the video!

GIVEAWAY!
eBay is graciously offering one (1) Mommy Delicious reader a $25 eBay gift card in order to help you with your eBay buying/selling experience. Pretty sweet, huh?

To enter:
Check out the video and leave a comment saying how you would spend your eBay gift card.

For one extra entry, "like" Mommy Delicious on Facebook, "like" this post, AND leave a comment saying that you've done so.

One winner will be chosen via random.org on December 13th.

I'm sure the gift card will come in handy, especially during this time of the year when we're all gearing up to finish (start?) our holiday shopping. And if you need inspiration for gifts, check out my 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

WINNER: Julie! Congratulations... enjoy your gift card!

2011 Holiday Gift Guide for Her {And A Fresh and Sexy GIVEAWAY}

Manhattan's most celebrated department stores have unveiled their scenic holiday windows, festive party invitations are hitting my inbox at lightning speed, and Starbucks is serving up tasty drinks in their "red" cups. You know what that means? It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, did I miss anything?)

And I'm beginning to feel the holiday frenzy full force -- Which parties do I hit up? When do I book Aiden's holiday photo shoot? What's the best gift to get my gal pals? So many fun decisions to make.

Earlier this week, I gave you a little preview into this post when I stated that wine and jewelry make for great Holiday gifts. Because they do. Now, without further ado, here are my other picks:

Flip Video Ultra HD

This baby is so much fun for capturing those precious, silly, and joyous moments. It combines Flip Video's signature shoot-and-share simplicity with the power of vivid HD video. And it's super light, small, and compact so you can carry it anywhere. Buy it new on eBay.

Kris Jenner... And All Things Kardashian

{L to R: Melissa Gerstein, Raina Seitel,
Yours truly, Denise Albert}
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of joining the lovely Moms And The City (pictured above) for an intimate gathering and discussion with Mama Jenner herself. Say what you will about the Kardashians, but Kris Jenner is a mastermind pimp Manager (Momager) who has created a multimillion dollar brand. The Kardashians are everywhere (including my nails, in a festive red kolor) and you can't knock her hustle. Learn her secrets through her book, which is an easy read. Buy it new on eBay.

Apple iPhone 4S
Confession: I bought this phone. For myself. For Christmas. Before I even purchased a single gift for anyone else. Including Aiden. (Sometimes you just gotta be selfish.) It arrived last night and although I haven't set it up yet, I suspect I'm going to be in love. Buy it new on eBay.

Spa Gift Card

We all know that I love a good spa treatment. What busy and stressed gal doesn't? This holiday season, give the gift of wellness with a spa gift card. Buy it on eBay.

Michael Germain Sexual Fresh Eau de Parfum

A few weeks ago, I was sent this perfume when it launched (along with Sexual Sugar, which made it's debut last year.) It's equal parts fruity, floral, sexy, and, well fresh without being overwhelming. It has top notes of ruby bergamot, and ginger, and there are hints of pink peony, white tea, and magnolia. I was so pleased with the scent! So much so that I'm giving away a bottle to one (1) lovely Mommy Delicious reader! Woot! Just leave a comment and one winner will be chosen via random.org on Tuesday December 6th. The perfume is available at Macy's and Bloomingdale's, but you can also buy it new on eBay.

Good luck, lovelies! And happy holiday shopping!

WINNER: Number One -- YUMMommy! Yay! Congrats... look out for an email from me.

{Disclaimer: As an eBay Parent Panel Ambassador, this post is being sponsored by eBay. Also, I received bottles of Sexual Sugar and Sexual Fresh from the company as part of their launch campaign. The opinions and gift ideas are all my own.}

eBay Holiday Selling Tips & GIVEAWAY!

I know what you're thinking. It's not even Halloween yet and already Mommy Delicious is talking about Holiday stuff. But, really. It's 31 days until Thanksgiving, 57 days until Hanukkah, 62 days until Christmas, and 63 days until Kwanzaa.

And we've got to stay ahead of the game. Right? Right.

And the early bird catches the worm. Right? Right.

It'll be tragic if you spend your life savings on Holiday gifts this year and start the new year off practically bankrupt. That's no bueno. So let's make a pact to earn extra money before the Holidays so that we can fund our Holiday expenses. Sounds sweet enough. Right? Right.

One way we can do that is to find treasures in our home and sell them on eBay. (And, yes, it's totally possible to earn money by listing items on eBay. While I was not that successful with selling my Halloween costume, my eBay Parent Panel pal over at Classy Chaos was able to sell old Halloween costumes in order to pay for new Halloween decorations. Sweetness!)

If you need help figuring out exactly what you can sell, I suggest you head on over and check out eBay's Holiday Selling Guide. The list is so comprehensive! They include everything -- collectibles (decorative, Holiday, and seasonal), clothing, shoes, and accessories (for men, women, and children), health and beauty items, all types of electronics, loads of toys and games, and even, motor parts. Like I said, the list is SO comprehensive.

Now, about the pact. I'm going to challenge myself to list $150 -- $200 worth of items on eBay for the month of November. I'm putting it out there because I not only want to hold myself accountable for it, but for you to hold me accountable for it as well.

What about you? Are you in for the challenge? If so, join the pact!

One winner will be chosen at random and will have the chance to enjoy exotic chocolate and wine tasting from all over the world (love!) and drool over the awesome couture showcases made entirely of chocolate (love!).

Find Treasures. Sell on eBay. Earn Money. Repeat.

Going forward, can this just be one of our mottos here on this delicious blog? Okay? Thanks.

Earlier this month, I was super ecstatic to reveal to you that I am now apart of the eBay Parent Panel Ambassador Program. I wrote that post live from the eBay On Location Conference in Orlando, FL where I enjoyed a king-sized bed at the DoubleTree by Hilton all by my lonesome. Ahhh...

That part was a little slice of heaven. But I digress...

Day One of the conference included meeting the other Parent Panel Ambassadors, mingling a little (okay, mingling a lot), and letting people know that I'm fun. Literally.

And so it begins...

This sign was the beginning of a fabulous night that ended in one too many drunk texts. But you knew that already. And again, I digress...

Of course, there was lot's of learning about the eBay selling process, the loveliness of finding hidden treasures in your home and the importance of repurposing those items. Why is it so important? Uh, you do wanna monetize off of those items, don't cha?

Well, then. Let's make you some more money.

Shall we proceed?

"Yes, indeed."

Six Tips and Tricks to Make eBay Selling Easier:

Start Slow -- There is a learning curve to selling on eBay so start out by selling something that you wouldn't necessarily mind if you don't get the best deal on it. DON'T start out by selling that expensive piece of jewelry your ex gave you. (But feel free to sell it later on down the road.)

Become A Buyer -- eBay sellers should understand buyers' experiences. Learn what your customers might be looking for from your own transactions. PLUS, people are more likely to buy an item from you if you have at least 7 pieces of feedback on the site.

Hone Your Listing Skills -- Learn how to optimize on a few listings for maximum results, as opposed to listing hundreds of items at once. Have an item in mind? Take a look at similar items that are currently on sell and learn from it.

Offer Free Shipping -- This one's a no-brainer. Everyone loves free shipping (not more than free items, though) and it greatly improves your chances of securing a buyer.

Research Pricing -- Look for other items that are similar to the one you're selling in order to understand the approximate value.

Pictures Are Priceless -- Include pictures of the items with your listings. The more pictures, the merrier. Also, take into consideration the lighting and the background of the photos. Remember, your buyers do not have the luxury of trying items on or feeling the fabrics, etc, so you want to be as thorough as possible with your listings.

Ready. Set. Sell.
What's hot commodity right now?
Fall Fashion -- With the season changing, I've cleaned out Aiden's closet and I'm ready to find 5 of his jeans (all in decent condition) new homes.

Halloween Costumes and Decorations -- I'm ready to find last year's Sexy Sailor Girl costume a new home as well. PLUS, I'm on the lookout for a new costume for this Halloween. And I want it at a discounted price. I would tell you what I'm planning on dressing up as... but then I'd have to kill you. (Kidding).

What are some hidden treasures you're thinking of monetizing off of?

Use eBay Fashion Outlet to Score Discounted Designer Labels

eBay knows how to take care of our fashion cravings
New York Fashion Week has ended and has left fashionistas everywhere craving for more designer pieces. I am no exception because this week, I've been totally gung ho about the eBay Fashion Outlet. And if you love designer pieces without the designer price tag, you'll be gung ho as well.

The eBay Fashion Outlet, the latest virtual outlet mall, sells brand new items for discounted prices for no specific amount of time. Unlike the traditional eBay that we know and love, the Fashion Outlet doesn't auction anything off and doesn't let users upload their own items. It's simply 24/7 access to a collection of top retailers selling directly on eBay for up to 65% off the manufacturer's suggested retail price. Sweetness!

The eBay Fashion Outlet allows for you to browse by eBay store or by brand. And the outlet offers a nice selection of brands that are currently in season, so that, you know, you can get your fashion fix and whatnot.

I'm currently in the market for a new bag and I keep thinking of this little gem: The Junior Drake Camden Shoulder Bag. This cute bag in twig is Last Call by Neiman Marcus and it's marked down by 40%.

And what good is fall fashion without a chic fall jacket? This William Rast Women's Robin Biker Denim Jacket is so sexy badass. It's currently marked down by 67%. eBay must know that I'm on a budget.

And since I'm a total sucker for a sexy dress, I've fallen for this little number: The Alexia Admor Ruffle-Sleeve Dress. Again, Last Call by Neiman Marcus in champagne and it's marked down by 51%.

Check out the eBay Fashion Outlet to see if you can score more than a few gems of your own. And please, share the wealth! Let me know if you find anything.

Replete with tips, tricks, and tales on how you (and you and you and you) can gain extra income with amazing treasures that you already own in your home.

Pretty sweet, huh?
